Eileen,Cindy Rhonda,
My condolences on reading of Ray’s passing.
“Grief is the purest form of love that we can have for a person. It is also one of the deepest hurts that’s humanly possible. The depth of our grief is equal to the depth of our love for the deceased .”
Our brains store memories FOREVER. Those that believe that time heals are sadly mistaken. Nothing is EVER the same again. Our lives are changed FOREVER. No matter how long it has been since their death, the emotions of a loved one’s death , even years later, WILL come back with the same intensity as when it originally happened.
Some days we will we able about to talk about the deceased without issue and other days , thoughts alone will bring tears. As uncomfortable as one feels , we MUST allow ourselves to FEEL the emotions and continue to , “ Speak Their Name”. We must also allow ourselves to laugh when an amusing memory resurfaces.
We MUST be gentle with ourselves and know that being gentle is not a sign of weakness. .

No words we can offer will make this hurt go away. I remember laughing a lot with Uncle Ray. Speak often of the memories and cherish those thoughts. May he rest in peace. You’re in our prayers Auntie Eileen, Cindy, Rhonda, and families.
