My condolences to the moncur family, I knew the family fairly well as I grew up and went to school with the boys, I lived two blocks up on first ave. I would ride in the caboose with Mr. Moncur and I would shovel out the snow on the railroad switches for the train going the the mine from bredenbury to Esterhazy Sask. At that time I worked for CPR section of Yorkton. I moved away in 1991moved on to many different jobs.
I truly enjoyed working with him, he is a hard worker and a easy man to work for, I will always miss him.

Mr. Moncur was our coach in Junior baseball in Yorkton. I do not recall the year (perhaps 72-73), but we won our league that year. I was 12 or 13 at the time. He was so understanding and accepting of any players shortfalls, perhaps that is why we won. Also, going to Burke with Rob and Dave made many great memories.
I remember going to Rob's house after rafting by the railroad with other friends during the spring thaw, and his Mom had a pot of wieners and beans going. So nice. Fond memories.
Rest in peace, Mr. Moncur.

Aunt Dawn, Rob, Dave, Chris and all your families...
What I remember about Uncle Don is that he had a lot of presence. I don't think anyone could ever accuse him of being a wallflower. He was so full of life. And just like dad, he loved telling stories. And we all really loved hearing them. I think him and dad had very eventful lives in their younger years! I remember Uncle Don being very engaging, had a love of music, and even though I never seen his adventurous side, I know that he no doubt must have had one! I think that's a genetic trait!
So please just know that my heart goes out to all of you - for your loss of a husband, a dad, a granddad, and our uncle. He will definitely be dearly missed!! My love goes out to all of you!!
Love,
Sheree

Our sincere condolences to Dawn and the family. Don was a kind soul who enjoyed the outdoors. He was thoughtful and charismatic, and always had time for a visit and a laugh. Rest easy sir.

So many memories……I remember Uncle Don as a kind, generous man (that he tried to keep hidden behind a rather crusty exterior!) who was always full of stories and had a wicked sense of humor. Who loved his family fiercely, and who was so visibly proud of his boys. And man, could he dance! One of the best memories of my life was celebrating his and Aunty Dawn’s anniversary at the gun club….one of the too rare opportunities I had to be with the whole family-I hadn’t laughed and danced so much in years!
I will miss him deeply as I know so many will, but I am so thankful for the love he gave me and the memories I have.
My love is with you all.
