Dearest Shaun and family: My heart goes out to you and your family on the loss of your wonderful mum. While I never met her, you shared so many memories of her so that, when I look at her picture, I can see her doing some of the things you told me. Like how she sewed all the outfits for you and your sisters and how she mixed up the materials so they would all be different. And the Christmas one of your sisters got a belt to go with her outfit and you were so jealous! I can see that now with your mum as the referee. And how your mum and dad loved to garden and how well it always turned out. And how Nicky was her favorite and everybody knew it. Being the youngest in my family, I can relate to that. You told me how brave and courageous you mum was and I know you were so proud of her. Shaun, your conversations made it so vivid how much your mother loved you all and I am glad you shared those memories with me. It is wonderful that you were able to go home to spend quality time and that you were there in her final hours. While this is the toughest thing you ever had to do, it really shows how much you are your mother's daughter. Your pain is great and will continue to be such for a very long time because, as I told you before, the amount of your pain will be equal to the amount of your love. Take care, my friend and know you are in my thoughts.
