Obituary of Debra "Deb" Ann Ward
Debra Ann (nee Lehman) Ward was born on August 22, 1957, in Kamsack, Saskatchewan to parents Bill and Linda Lehman. Deb received her first couple years of schooling in Langenburg and her grades 3 through 12 in Esterhazy. Deb then moved to Regina to take her hairdressing course, later running a cleaning business. While in Regina she was blessed with two children, Kelly and Corey. Deb moved to Esterhazy for a period of time and later to Melville where she was blessed with the birth of her son Boyd. She worked at a dry-cleaning business in Melville while also working as a seamstress. Later, she began employment at St. Peter's Hospital in the housekeeping department; however, she took on additional work cleaning for different businesses and homeowners. She later transitioned from housekeeping at St. Peter's Hospital to working as a continuing care assistant at St. Paul Lutheran Home up until present time.
Deb met the love of her life, Jamison, five years ago. During their time together they enjoyed many hot holidays, beers on the deck and time with friends and family. She loved country living, raising chickens and selling eggs. Her love of horses led to treasured moments riding with her grandchildren; her grandchildren meant the world to her.
Deb never sat still. Through the years she taught gymnastics, later horseback riding at the Agri-Park. During her life she would also find the time to sew, ski, do ceramics, canoe with her sister and, as mentioned previously, she loved to travel in her last years; she loved the beach and making many meaningful connections.
Deb entered her eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville at the young age of 61 years, 9 days before her 62nd birthday.
Predeceased by her father Bill Lehman; grandparents Mary Elizabeth and Philip Henry Schappert. Deb leaves to cherish her memory her companion, Jamison Carroll; her children, Corey Ward (Meagan Hoffman-Ward), Kelly (Sheldon) Kreiser, and Boyd Ward (Amanda); her step daughters Courtney and Rae-Lee Carroll; grandchildren, Madisyn and Gavyn Kreiser; Kaden and Lucas Ward and their mom Adrienne Hambleton; Olivia Ward, Dakota, Savannah and Ryder Hoffman-Ward; her mother, Linda (Paul) King; brothers, Wesley (Laurie) Abdai and Rick (Brenda) Abdai; sisters, Evelyn Zeebeck, Gail Abdai (Blayne Ulrich) and Marj Medvid-Q'Zance (Paul); as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Deb's wishes were to not have a funeral service.
