Clifford Morley Pankoski
Wednesday June 8, 1927 - Sunday June 7, 2020
The beloved wife and family of Morley Pankoski are saddened to announce his passing on Sunday June 7, 2020 at the age of 92 years.
Morley is survived by his wife Yvette and children Howard (Gail); Denise (Robert Kerluke), grandsons Brendan and Justin; Douglas (Bernadette), grandsons Jules and Gabe; David (Patricia Brown), Annette (Abraham Klassen), grandsons Byron, Wade and great-granddaughter Hannah; Yvonne and Aline. Morley is survived by his sister Eleanor Yelle and brother Clement "Clem". He will be remembered by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close family friends. Morley was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Mary, his sisters Jean and Eveline (Andrew Johnstone), brothers Elben (Wilhelmina) and Victor (Natasha) and brother-in-law Hector Yelle.
Morley was born to Howard and Mary Pankoski of the Fenwood (Saskatchewan) district. Growing up on the family farm, he contributed to the daily routines of farm life in addition to the enjoyment of playing baseball and hockey for local Fenwood teams. Morley attended school in Fenwood. Morley was married to Yvette on October 7, 1953 and over the years, raised their family of seven children. Morley started his railway career as a fireman with the Canadian National Railway. He also pursued the achievement of his journeyman painter designation which he was employed as a painter and eventual business owner of Modern Painting and Decorating in Melville with long-time friend Adolph Kurtz. Ultimately, Morley returned to the railroad as a "Unit Hostler" until his retirement 30 years later.
Morley enjoyed fishing and spending time at the cottage when he wasn't gardening in his back yard. He spent time building with repurposed wood to create yard ornaments and walking sticks which he often gifted to others. Into his retirement, Morley and Yvette cherished their railway trips across Canada to visit family and friends. Morley was a member of St. Henry's Church and served with the Knights of Columbus.
Morley was a quiet man who welcomed visits with family and friends at his home and enjoyed reading the newspaper with a candy in his favorite chair. At times, this was known to occur simultaneously, but each visit always ended with a smile and his closing line "Bye, for now!" Service Details.
