Obituary of Michael Dennis Melnychuk

The family of Michael Melnychuk of Yorkton, beloved son of Dennis & Sharon Melnychuk sadly announce his passing on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the age of 46 years. Current public health restrictions will be followed and the Funeral Service will take place on Friday, June 19 at 11:00a.m. from Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Doreen Day officiating. Memorials in memory of Michael may be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, 200 - 4545 Parliament Ave., Regina, SK S4W 0G3 as gifts of remembrance. In 1977 he became a big brother to Jennifer Melnychuk. Michael was raised and attended school in Ebenezer, SK., then onto the Yorkton Regional High School. In 1994 he moved to Regina, SK. to work and spent most of his life there. Michael's jobs consisted of remodelling homes, painting and carpentry. In 2018 he was diagnosed with esophagus cancer which he battled to the day of his passing. Michael enjoyed camping, fishing, music, muscle cars, building dye cast models and drinking beer by the fire. Michael was blessed with two beautiful daughters and four handsome boys. Michael is survived by his parents, Dennis and Sharon, sister Jennifer (Kurtis), his children; Brittney, Nicholas, Bradley, Matthew, Brendon and Alexis, nieces Destiney (Devin) and Taylor (Brandon), nephews Kyle and Shawn (Alysha) and a great niece Paisley. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, June 19, 2020 from the Yorkton Memorial Garden Family Centre with Doreen Day, Certified Celebrant officiating. Words of Remembrance were given by nephews Kyle and Shawn Melnychuk. The interment followed in the Garden of Devotion, Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Kyle Melnychuk & Shawn Melnychuk serving as urn bearers.
