Our sincere and heartfelt condolences. Elvina was not only mom's cousin but best friend. We will always remember her kindness the laughter Elvina and mom shared. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you. Love from the Lester clan.

As a kid, going to my grandma and grandpa's in Melville meant so many things would happen: Grandma would have chocolate somewhere, for sure! There would be all kinds of tasty food and treats. At some point, Grandma and Grandpa would be waltzing in the kitchen, and she'd have that sweet smile on her face. She would often have a new recipe for us to try out, and some of them were pretty creative. Inevitably someone would stop by to say hello - a cousin, an aunt or uncle, a family friend. Family and friends were welcome in their home. There would be music, games, and more yummy eats. There would be walks and lots of laughter. I could always get a hug, except for the day that I got taller than her. (That day I was in trouble!) Grandma let me help her with cooking and baking and errands, and I remember the day she taught me to thread a needle, to knot the thread, and to tie off the last stitch. (We were making clothes for my stuffed Smurf and I felt pretty clever once I knew how to do that so well.) There's nothing more special than going to Grandma's house, and I will treasure those memories always.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet Mother. I have mixed emotions when an elder family member passes away. One is sadness for the loss, but more important for them it is the end to any suffering and loss of quality of life they experienced in their final years. I know our Dad and Mom did not want to be where they were in the end. In comfort for all involved, especially for them, we have to have faith that they are receiving the rewards they so richly deserve in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus. I'll always your remember your Mom and Dad's great sense of humor, laughter and hospitality whenever we visited. Peace of the Lord to you all. Brian and Karen Litzenberger

Margo and Don, Sincere condolences as you mourn Elvina. Though I didn't know her long I enjoyed every minute I had in her presence. She was hilarious and kind and just a sweetheart. She shared so many stories and that it was a joy to be around her.
