Obituary of August Anthony Burant
The family of August Burant, of Yorkton, beloved husband of Isabel Burant, sadly announce his passing on March 2, 2021. He was 82 years of age.
Dad was born to August and Apolonia (Pearl) Burant in 1939 and grew up on the family farm. He grew up in a family of 12 children and went to Happy Home school from grades 1-8 and completed high school at St. Henry's in Melville.
August worked for Sask Power from 1958-1995. He was dedicated and loyal and taught his family the value of hard work. August married Isabel Halarewich on July 22, 1961 and this year would be their 60th anniversary. He will be missed by his children Kevin (Joanne), Gerald (Kim), and Lisa (Keith) and will be welcomed to heaven by his youngest son Curtis (Kendra), He was loved dearly by his grandchildren Jessie (Travis), Katelynn (Mark), Kyle, Nathan, Abby, Kathryn, Tynan and Keanan and by his two great grandchildren Lucas and Logan. He was excited to meet a new great grandchild due this summer.
He loved hunting and fishing and took the family on many long road trips across Canada and to the US. August and Isabel traveled to numerous destinations like Mexico, Cuba, Hawaii and Alaska. The family fishing trips were the highlight of his year and he valued the time he spent with us.
He was predeceased by his parents, August and Pearl, his brothers and sister Timothy, Don, John, Ben, David and Rita, and his son Curtis.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, March 5, 2021 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church,
Yorkton, Saskatchewan with Rev. Fr. Louis Kim Nguyen as the celebrant. The hymns were Be Not Afraid, Psalm 23, Amazing Grace, I am the Bread of Life, Immaculate Mary, Songs of the Angels and Though the Mountains May Fall led by accompanist Chris Fisher. Words of remembrance were given by Lisa Yasinko. The casket bearers were Kevin Burant, Gerry Burant, Kyle Burant and Keith Yasinko. The interment of cremated remains followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Lisa Yasinko as urn bearer. In memory of August, memorial donations may be made to the Yorkton S.P.C.A (79 7th Ave. S, Yorkton, SK. S3N 2V6) as gifts of remembrance. Service Details.
