Obituary of Samuel "Sam" Myrowsky
The family of Sam Myrowsky, of Yorkton, sadly announce his passing on March 5, 2021. He was 82 years of age.
As per Sam's wishes, a private family graveside service in the Yorkton City Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (1738 Quebec Ave. Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9) as gifts of remembrance.
Samuel "Sam" Myrowsky of Yorkton, Saskatchewan peacefully passed away Friday March 5, 2021 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre at the age of 82 years.
Sam Myrowsky was born on September 15, 1938 in the Vesna district, southeast of Arran, Saskatchewan to John and Mary (Tysowsky) Myrowsky.
After moving to Yorkton, he met Rita Soyka while working together at the Yorkton Hotel, they were married on July 1, 1967.
In 1968, he started working at the Yorkton Union Hospital. He worked there until he was forced into early retirement in March of 1990 after suffering a massive heart attack.
Shortly after that, he moved into a bachelor suite on Bradbrooke Drive, where he resided until his passing. Here he enjoyed growing his flourishing flowers and vegetables for everyone to see and admire.
Sam was predeceased by a son Kevin (1970), his father John, his mother Mary (1974), his half-brother Tony Repula (2015), his brother Joseph "Joe" Myrowsky (1970), his brother Wasyl "Bill" Myrowsky (2001), his sister-in-law Bessie Repula (2010), and his former wife Rita Myrowsky (2017).
Sam is survived by three children: Dean Myrowsky (Christine), Tamara Haberstock (Keith) and Michelle Squires (Brent); five grandchildren: Katherine Haberstock, Matthew Haberstock, Breann Squires, Nathan Haberstock and Erin Squires. Also by his only nephew Al Zabinsky. Service Details.
