Obituary of John Kent Churchill

It is with great sadness that the family of John Kent Churchill announce he received his wings on September 3, 2021. John was born November 30, 1962 in Sydney, Nova Scotia to Winston and Barb Churchill. In July 1991 John met Brenda and with loving arms he welcomed her children Missy and Scott as his own. On June 2, 1993 John and Brenda welcomed their daughter Kaylee and seven years later they welcomed their second child, a son, Gryffin on July 17, 2000 into the family. John owned and operated a construction company in Montreal. He even travelled to Boston for work. He had no problem building a house from dirt to roof. In April 2013 John met Charity and with loving arms he welcomed Kenton, Ryanna, Trinity and Juliet as his own. On September 20, 2015 John and Charity welcomed their son, Jaxon. One year later they welcomed their second child, another son, Quenton, on November 17, 2016. His life in Saskatchewan started following his construction and building houses trade until he decided it was time to change things up. He attended High Velocity Training in Camrose, AB where he obtained his certificate to operate heavy equipment in 2016. John took his certificate and knowledge and was employed at the RM of Churchbridge operating the Grader. Whenever anyone asked John how many kids, he had he would say ten; he never said four biological and six step-children. They were all his kids. He loved all of his kids deeply and had a special bond with every single one of them. John was a kind and gentle soul who loved spending time with family and friends. John's passion was being outdoors, camping, fishing, swimming, playing scratch tickets, and he was the king of the grill (as he liked to say). The legacy of John's kind spirit, love of fishing, outdoors and zest for life will live on through his children…who were his pride and joy. John was predeceased by his parents Winston and Barb. He is survived by his companion, Charity Tomlinson; children, Missy, Scott, Kaylee, Gryffin and their mother, Brenda Smith; children, Kenton, Ryanna, Trinity, Juliet, Jaxon and Quenton; his grandson, Dexter and numerous family members and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from the Elk's Hall, Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, with Crystal Bailey, Certified Celebrant officiating. Musical selections shared were "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd and "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. The honourary bearers were Missy, Scott, Kaylee, Gryffin, Kenton, Ryanna, Trinity, Juliet, Jaxon, Quenton and all those who loved and shared in John's life. The interment followed in Our Lady of Victory Parish Cemetery, Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. with Stacy Millham, Kenton Tomlinson, Lucius Kowaski, Mik Millham, Zack Karras and David LaRiviere serving as casket bearers.
