Dear Britton Family, It saddens me to hear about Logan. My heart goes out to all the family and friends during this difficult time. Logan and I have been friends for over 30 years. He was one of my best friends since we were kids. We stayed in contact over the years, and always picked up where we left off when were in the same city. What to say about the only "Logie Perogy" that I ever knew?
I don't remember much from my first day of Kindergarten at Simpson School, but I do remember Logan clinging to his mom's leg like a tenacious little koala bear. I think he felt that way regularly about going to school but learned not to show it so much.
Throughout school, we were classmates more often than not. At Yorkdale, there was a band-based approach to the way they sorted us into our 5 classrooms and somebody thought it was a good idea to combine the high and low instruments together (he played bari sax). It must have been a hot mess of hormones but the point is, Logan and I were still classmates beyond Simpson. And with B last names, he was usually nearby in high school too.
He was easy to be around and quick to spot the humour in a situation. I remember a high-pitched snicker and my other friend remembers a full-body jiggle. He often responded with good-natured sarcasm.
At our 10-year high school reunion at Tapps, I bought Logan a drink because I was feeling guilty over a blow to the ribs I had delivered to him on the playground in Grade 2. I literally kicked him while he was down! But he had no recollection of the event and all my 20 years of guilt were absolved with a shot of Jagermeister. We had a good laugh together.
That was the last time I saw Logan, and it's the way I'll remember him. Sorry I can't be at the funeral. Hugs to all.

To The Britton Family - I am truly sorry for your loss. I have so many fond memories with Logan. Memories from our childhood, through high school and after. Logan had the best smile, with the dimples and he paired it with an infectious laugh. I will cherish all these memories, Logan was a good friend of mine for many years.
