Obituary for Shirley Anne Gyorfi Shirley Anne Gyorfi , 72, of Ituna, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024. Born on October 29, 1951, in Valleyfield, Quebec, Shirley was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, before moving to Regina, Saskatchewan, where she met the love of her life, Irvin Gyorfi in 1978 and together they blended their families.
Shirley was the proud mother of three children: Phillip (deceased 1974), Tony Bray (wife Jen and children TJ and Keegan), and Nicole Monaghan (husband Darryn and children Liam, Summer and Mick). She also embraced her role as a stepmother to Terry Gyorfi (wife Christine and children Mikayla, Eddie, and Dillon), Tim Gyorfi (children Justin, Braiden, and Kaitlyn), and Mark Gyorfi (wife Kim and children Michael, Taylor, Marrissa and Danika).
Shirley loved hanging out with friends and family, playing cards, camping, bike runs, touring on the back of the motorcycle, Plentywood trips, bingo, shopping, visiting family, her animals, fur coats, high heels and road trips with us kids in the back of the station wagon playing Rockband. You could always find her suntanning reading a Danielle Steel book and although her interested changed over the years, those were always the things she loved. The last year she really looked forward to spending time with her cousins Jackie and Bob whom she just recently reconnected with as it brightened her day and she loved their time together.
For the last 29 years Shirley and Irvin spent their time at "the farm", just outside of Vibank. She liked it at first: the peace & quiet, the animals that the farm came with but then one day came more dogs, cats, then horses & cows. She thereby transformed into Grandma Farmer as she fell in love with the acreage life and there was no turning back. In August of 2024 they sold the acreage, retired and moved to the town of Ituna, Saskatchewan.
She will be missed dearly by her friends and family, and especially her loving, devoted husband and best friend, Irvin.
