Chad Wonsiak

Obituary of Chad Wonsiak

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the death of Chad Thomas Wonsiak of Yorkton, Saskatchewan on August 31, 2024 at the age of 42.

Chad completed elementary, middle, and high school in Yorkton. He loved all things outdoors – camping, fishing, water sports – especially water skiing at which he excelled. He could slalom and even gave barefoot skiing a good try! Chad was always up for a challenge! In the winter months Chad played hockey, snowboarded and snowmobiled.

Chad obtained his Red Seal welder status and worked as a welder in many places over Western Canada.

Chad’s greatest joy was in October of 2013 when Chad’s partner, Kyila gave birth to their son, Keaton. Chad’s smile widened and his face softened at the very mention of this little replica of him. Chad was a loving, attentive dad who spent as much time with Keaton as possible.

Chad was loyal to his many good friends. He was often referred to as “oak tree” by his buddies. Certainly there are many reasons for this description. It was apt because Chad stood tall and firm. He was strong! He worked hard, played hard, loved fiercely, and never quit pushing for what he believed to be right!

Chad is predeceased by his father, grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Chad is survived by his son, Keaton Puryk of Saskatoon, his mother, Loryl Wonsiak (Longworth), his brother Ryan Wonsiak, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

We all wish Chad love and solace.
