In Loving Memory of Evelyn Peleshytyk
PELESHYTYK – The family of Evelyn Peleshytyk of Yorkton, beloved wife of the late Steve Peleshytyk, sadly announce her passing on August 24, 2024. She was 90 years of age. Evelyn was born April 18, 1934, on the family farm in the Playmore district, daughter of Nick and Lena (nee Griff) Oystrick. Raised on the family farm she received her education at the Doyle School. Evelyn was the eldest of ten children and had the responsibility helping to raise her siblings. Evelyn married Steve Peleshytyk, the love of her life, on June 8, 1952. They moved onto the farm in the RM of Calder, Wroxton District. Evelyn and Steve worked and lived on the farm until retiring to Yorkton in 1994. Evelyn always grew many large gardens. She spent summers canning various vegetables and fruits. Evelyn and Steve worked hard on their mixed farm, growing grain and raising livestock. Evelyn had a green thumb, caring for beautiful house plants and trees that bordered the farmyard. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards and was a life-long animal lover. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. Evelyn was an exceptional cook. She welcomed family, friends, and neighbors for meals on any given day. Evelyn celebrated her 90th birthday this year. Despite having health issues, Evelyn met family and friends for coffee and visits most days. She always had a beautiful smile to share with all. Memorial donations may be made to the Health Foundation for the Renal Dialysis Program at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre as gifts of remembrance.
