Edith Wagner

Obituary of Edith Wagner

Edith was born on May 21st, 1936 near Bethune, Saskatchewan to Archibald and Gertrude (nee Bullai) Riddell. 

 

One of six children, she grew up on the family farm near Bethune.  She married Walter Wagner on June 25th, 1955 and they lived in Lumsden, where Gary was born, until moving to Craven in 1958, where Garth and Glenn were born.  They moved to Yorkton in 1966, where Gayle was born, and opened Wagner’s Flooring in 1969, where she worked until she retired in 2001. 

 

Upon her retirement, she spent her time travelling, gardening, and visiting with her family.  Also, she enjoyed bowling and going to dances with her friends.

 

Cooking for holidays were special to her, and she enjoyed the time spent with her family at Christmas’, Easters’ and Thanksgivings throughout the years.

 

She leaves behind to cherish her memory Gary & Nadine Wagner (Randi Wagner and Charlsty & Marty Suthers), Garth & Donna Wagner (Jordan Wagner and Bethany & Mike Riecken), Glenn Wagner and Sheldon & Gayle Biblow (Taylor Biblow & Kristian Barth and Courtney Biblow).

 

She is loved by her great-grandchildren Hudson, Belle, & Etta Suthers, and Isla, Emma, Willow, & Ivy Riecken.

 

She was predeceased by her parents Archie Riddell and Ernie & Gertrude Sigmeth, brothers and sisters Irene & Wilber Laughton, Leonard Riddell, Bob Riddell and Gordon & Helen Riddell, and by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ron & Willa Schadt, Lawrence Wagner, Alfred Wagner, Robert & Edna Peterson, Sam Small, Lorne Howell, Albert Wagner, Eddie Wagner, and Donald Wagner. 

 

She is survived by her sister Carole Lesser, and sisters-in-law Shirley Riddell, Martha Howell, Joyce Wagner, Evelyn Small, and Agnes Wagner.

 

The family thanks the staff at the St. Paul Lutheran Home where she spent the last 3 years of her life for their compassionate care.

 

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, (301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina Saskatchewan S4P 3X1) as gifts of remembrance.
