Obituary of Mary Yaremko
The family of Mary Yaremko of Yorkton, wife of the late Russell Yaremko, sadly announce her peaceful passing on July 11, 2024 at the age of 87, with her son Jeremy and daughter-in-law Laresa by her side.
A Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
Mary Yaremko was born on March 15, 1937, in the Rhein district to parents Steve and Katie. She was the middle child with six siblings, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Mary was born and raised in the Mohyla district outside of Yorkton, on the family farm.
In 1956 she met Russell Yaremko and after 5 years of courtship they married on August 1961. She worked at Rio Cafe, Propp’s Foods and lastly Safeway in the Parkland Mall until her retirement . In 1978 they welcomed their son Jeremy into their lives. Throughout her life she enjoyed camping trips to Good Spirit Lake and traveling throughout Canada and into the US in the family motorhome.
In 2000 she welcomed her first grandchild Jessica into her life, then her grandson Cole in 2010 followed by granddaughter Emma in 2013. Her grandkids were her joy and happiness in her later years, she loved spending as much time with them as she could. She also loved taking care of her pet dogs Spanky, Copper, Jake and most recently Daisy.
Mary was a very kind and generous soul who always put those she cared for first. She will be greatly missed by all her friends, neighbors and family.
Mary is predeceased by her parents Steve and Katie Bilous; husband Russell Yaremko; sisters Ann Crosby, Elsie Lange, and Helen Schwartz; and brother Harold Bilous.
Mary will be sadly missed by her son Jeremy and his wife Laresa and their children Cole and Emma. Granddaughter Jessica, brother Raymond, sister Jenny, and sister in law Eleanor, in laws, cousins and extended family, friends, and neighbours.
Arrangements for Mary Yaremko have been entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home and Cremation Care.
