Obituary of Nadine Bohay
Nadine Bohay, born on November 20, 1929, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, with her children by her side, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, resilience, and cherished memories. Nadine was born to Matt and Irene Dumka on a farm near Goodeve, Sk. She attended Robert School and completed a secretarial course in Thunder Bay, Ont. Nadine worked in Thunder Bay and continued a long-distance romance with Peter, the one true love of her life. They were wed July 21,1951 and shortly after moved back to Saskatchewan and settled in Yorkton. She worked as a bookkeeper at Kozan’s Furniture until the birth of her children. After her children were older, she worked as a secretary sharing duties between St. Mary and St. Alphonsus schools. Nadine and Peter relocated to Saskatoon, in 2005 to be nearer to their children.
Nadine had a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker. She made family holidays, traditions, and spending time with each other a priority. She dearly loved her seven sisters, and one brother and they were close throughout their lives. Faith, kindness, humility, forgiveness, and always doing your best were important values for her.
Nadine had many interests. She was a beautiful seamstress; loved reading, walking, gardening, golfing, trips to see Richard in London, Ont., and spending time at the lake. She was a great cook, and we will forever miss the great meals she prepared.
Nadine was predeceased by her husband Peter and infant daughter Shirley; parents Matt and Irene Dumka; sisters: Ann (Peter) Herchak, Mary (Steve), Karachok, Nellie (Mike) Karachok, Toni (Harry) Woznesenski, Olga (Walter) Bohay, Natalie (Matt) Bohay, Alice (Hugh) Bernie; brother Mike (Annie).
