Obituary of Frances Rasmussen

Mom was born Frances Makowetski on July 9, 1936, in Jedburgh, SK. Mom had two sisters, Jean and Iris; and a brother, Allan. She lived there on the farm and met our Dad (Victor Pisiak) in 1950, and they later married on January 11, 1951. During their marriage they were blessed with five daughters, Bernadette, Valarie, June, Bonnie, and Gwendolyn. Mom was a devoted wife and mother and took pride in her girls. She always had us dressed the same when we were small. Pink dresses, blue dresses, gold dresses, and many more outfits… she also would have the same as us.

Mom always had a huge garden and was a fantastic cook and baker. As everyone knows, Mom’s passion was cleaning and she was very good at it. Her favourite pastimes were bingo and playing cards, and she loved to dance.

Besides looking after the house and five girls Mom later went to work for the Macleod’s store in Ituna. After Mom and Dad moved to Yorkton Mom continued to work at Macleod’s there and when they closed she went to work at Sherman Drugs till she retired.

Mom and Dad divorced in 1976. In 1992 married mom married Mel and she became a stepmom to Murray, Myra, Carla, Ingrid, and their families.

When Mom became ill she came to live in the Pioneer lodge back in Ituna. She remained there till she passed quietly in her sleep on January 31, 2024 with family by her side.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Mel; her daughters’ Dad Victor; her Mom and Dad; sister Jean; brother Allen; and grandson Jason.

Mom is survived by her daughters Bernadette (Gary), Valarie, June, Bonnie, and Gwen (Marty); grandchildren Lana (Jason), Jody (Marlo), Kasey (Darryl), Mikey, Val Marie (Ian), Chad (Brenda), Kelly (Tammy), Evan (Stella), and Chandra (Rob); great-grandchildren Jordan (Tessa), Logan, Jackson, Paige, Madison, Peyton, Leo, Tasha, Ben, Olliver, Brendan, Brady, Megan, Giulianna, Josh, Matt, Brett, Rainy, L.J., Mikah, Shay, Gage, Emersyn, and Hannah; great-great-grandchildren Hazey and River; sister, Iris; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was loved and will be missed every day.
