Mildred Spelay Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mildred Agnes Spelay (Wirl) of Yorkton, Saskatchewan at the age of 90 years. Mom was predeceased by her husband John, her parents Alec and Agnes, her in-laws Nick and Pauline, her brothers Harry, Danny, Stan, brothers-in-law William, Frank, sisters-in-law Betty, Karen, Joyce, Margaret, and Rozella. Millie leaves to mourn her children Tracey (Greg) Swintak and their daughters Kasia and Tiana; Kevin (Deb) Spelay and their sons Thomas and Cameron; sisters Adeline, Marianne, brothers Tony, Frank, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Michael, Dennis, Dave, Trudy, Faye, Helen and Irene as well as many nieces, nephews, and close family friends.

Her family, friends, and church were a very integral part of Millie's life. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren.  She enjoyed visiting the girls in Winnipeg watching them on stage doing what they love and spending long summer days at the cabin with the boys, taking rides in the golf cart. She appreciated being with her friends having a cup of coffee and going out for brunch after mass.  She will be remembered for her fun-loving personality, warm smile, laughter, and kindness.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Yorkton Nursing Home and Yorkton Regional Hospital for the care provided over the last few years.  Prayers will be offered on Thursday February 1st, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Center.  A funeral mass will be celebrated for mom on Friday February 2nd at 10:30 AM at Saint Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton with a tea luncheon following the service.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home, Yorkton.
