Obituary of Ron Burak

The family of Ronald (Ron) Burak of Goodeve sadly announce his passing on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Ron was 73 years of age.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00a.m. from St. Michael's Ukrainian Cathoic Church, Goodeve with Rev. Father Jeffrey Stephaniuk officiating.

Memorials in memory of Ron Burak may be made to Mass Offerings or St. Michael's Parish Cemetery (Box 23, Goodeve, SK S0A 1C0) as gifts of remembrance.

Arrangements are entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home, Melville.

The family of Ronald (Ron) Gordon Burak of Goodeve, Sk sadly announces his peaceful passing. Ron was born September 30, 1950 to Michael and Anastasia “Nellie” Burak of Goodeve Sk. Ron attended Goodeve Elementary School then Melville High School. After high school he attended Moose Jaw SIAST for some accounting courses. Upon completion he started a summer job with the Department of Municipal Affairs as a surveyor. He continued that as a career moving over to the Department of Highways, traveling our province maintaining and building our rural highways during the week. On weekends and holidays he’d be at the family farm, farming with his brother Dave.

After retirement from the Department of Highways, in 2005, he continued enjoying life on the farm with yard, garden, and farming with Dave till their retirement from farming in 2008. He then continued living on the family farm enjoying nature, his yard, garden and watching sports till his passing on January 23, 2024.

Ron leaves behind his brother Dave Burak. As well as nephews Michael Burak (Julia), Jeffery Burak (Joanne), and niece Leanne Burak; great nephew and nieces Jacob, Jaclyn, Janaya, and Anna. He is predeceased by his parents: Michael and Nellie Burak; sister Betty Burak; sister-in-law Florence Burak and great nephew Nicholas Burak.

His memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and the void left by his absence will be felt by all who knew and loved him.  We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your thoughts and support during this difficult time. The family is also grateful for the help and support that cousin Bob and Deb Burak gave to Ron through all his years. We also thank Ken Golly for helping out Ron in the last while as well.
