Obituary of Angie Harrick
It is with broken hearts we share that Angie Harrick passed away unexpectedly at her home at the age of 65.
Angie was born on February 8, 1958 in Yorkton, Sask. She was the 6th child and 2nd daughter to John and Annie (Derkach) Wessing, who farmed in the Parkerview District.
She began her education at the Crewkerne Country School. When it closed she continued her education at Theodore, Sask. When she was done school she moved to Regina and started working at a dry cleaning business.
While living in Regina, she met Randy Harrick, who was employed with CP Rail. They were united in marriage on November 1, 1980. In 1982 they were blessed with their first child, Jennifer. The young family moved to Yorkton, where Randy continued to work for CP Rail. In 1989 their second child Kaylyn was born and in 1990 they had their third child, a son, Jamie. In 1986, Randy and Angie purchased and moved to the Harrick family farm north of Fenwood. In 1990 they built a new house.
Angie was a stay at home mom up until her kids where old enough to stay home by themselves. She then began working at York-Sask Drycleaners in Yorkton. In 2005 she started working with the Saskatchewan Health Authority. She advanced her education by obtaining a Certificate in Continuing Care Aid in 2013. In 2014 she accepted a position at the Yorkton Regional Hospital as a CCA where she worked until her passing. Angie was a compassionate, devoted and well loved worker. She enjoyed her co-workers and created strong bonds with patients and their families.
Angie was always very busy with working full time, farm life, raising chickens, planting her enormous garden and planning her next yard projects. When spring arrived you would find Angie at all the local green houses picking out her favorite flowers and greens so she can create her spectacular flower pots. She spent years turning her yard into her very own special oasis. In between keeping up with the constant yard work she spent hours keeping her house in a spotless and top notch condition.
Her favourite time of the year was harvest as it got her family together. Angie decided to take some time to travel when harvest was complete. She went on many trips and created great memories with everyone she went with. She would always look forward to her next trip! She always said her favourite trip was when they went on the Dolly Wood and Graceland tour.
Angie was a loving wife, encouraging mother and caring Grandma. Her kids looked up to her in every way possible. She made sure her kids knew just how much they meant to her even when they all moved away from home.
Her biggest joy were her grandkids, she would light up each time they came over or even when someone asked about them. She couldn't wait until the family was all together at the farm, she would look forward to holidays as that is when everyone could get home.
