Obituary of Vivian Hodgson
The family of Vivian Hodgson of Yorkton sadly announce her passing on Friday, November 17, 2023. Vivian was 86 years of age.
The Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, November 23 at 10:30a.m. from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Sathiadas Antony officiating.

Vivian Josephine Lucille Hodgson (nee Slaferek) was born March 16, 1937 at Yorkton, Saskatchewan, a daughter of Michael and Sophie (nee Bugoy) Slaferek. Vivian grew up on the family farm in the Otthon district. She graduated high school in 1955, and following that she trained at the Brandon Mental Hospital in Psychiatric and Practical nursing, graduating in 1958. Upon graduation Vivian received an award for the student with the best patient/nurse relationship. She also worked on the maternity ward in Yorkton. After nursing she purchased Spence’s Shoes and managed the store for 18 years before retiring. In her retirement she took a keen interest in the grandkids, supporting all their sporting events and activities. She was also a long-time member of the Beta Sigma Phi, serving with the organization for over 50 years. As her health began to decline and needing further care, Vivian became a resident of Weber House, Yorkton and District Nursing Home in July of this year. She passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17th 2023 with her family by her side. She was 86 years of age.
Predeceased by her parents; brother Dominic; a brother in infancy (named Dominic as well); her son Cameron, and her fiancé, Richard Werner. She leaves to cherish her memory her five children: Kim (Darrell); Carmel (Kurt); James (Renai); Barb (Rob); Deb (Garth); 14 grandchildren: Brandi, Ryan, Nicole, Brandon, Alex, Dylann, Aaron, Ashley, Kyle, Katelyn, Michael, Brittany, Jessica and Brooklyn. Also nine great grandchildren: Ty, Kale, Taylor, Bexleigh, Theo, Charlotte, Lainey, Brynlee and Livia. Vivian is also survived by a brother Bob (Vi) Slaferek.
