Matt was a great addition to our crew at Bonzos. He bartended while working toward finishing his degree. I often worked Sundays with Matt, and those Sunday daytime shifts can drag.. however Matt kept them fun and I truly enjoyed these shifts I got to work with him. I loved to razz Matt about his football team The Dallas Cowboys on NFL Sundays and how they always seem to lose. When he completed his schooling, he landed a job in Calgary. I was happy for him as this is a great opportunity, however I was sad to see him leave Bonzos. I always told him he had better come back to visit when he travels back this way or plan to all get together again.
I will cherish the times we all spent together, always. Matt was a great person, and I miss him dearly. My condolences to family & friends of Matt.

I had the privilege of coaching Matthew in junior basketball at St Henry’s school. I believe I coached him two seasons. He was always a hard worker and fun to have at practice. I remember how much I enjoyed watching him improve. He wasn’t the most athletic but he gave it his all. I ran into him in Regina here a few years ago and I was so happy to see him. He became a bright, pleasant young man. Still had the same smile from when he was 13. Rest easy Matthew. It was an honour to know you.

I am heartbroken to find this out! My deepest condolences Tammy, Vern and Alyssa; I am so very sorry for your loss. I will never forget teasing Matt about his hair in his eyes and he just good-naturedly laughing about it. That was the best word for him; good-natured. Since we were often “working” the same masses, I saw him a lot and he was just so nice. He didn’t have to talk to someone my age, but he just did because that was who he was.

I am saddened to hear this news. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching Matthew in his middle school days….never a dull moment. I had the pleasure of seeing him a few years ago and we had a nice chat….he grew up to become a very nice young man. My condolences to his family and friends.
