Obituary of Kathy Keep

The family of Katherine "Kathy" Keep of Punnichy, beloved wife of Bob Keep sadly announce her passing on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Katherine was 88 years of age.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 20 at 3:00p.m. from the Punnichy Hall.

Memorials in memory of Kathy may be made to St. George Anglican Church as gifts of remembrance.

Katherine “Kathy” was born on the family farm north of Punnichy on May 17, 1935.

She was the fourth child of seven born to Otto and Lena Schuler.

Kathy attended grade 1 to 8 at Dickens Country School and took grade nine by correspondence.

Over the years Kathy held various jobs, she was a hired girl for three different local farm families, she was a camp cook for a construction crew and she worked as a switchboard operator in Punnichy.

On July 19, 1954 she married Robert Keep in Punnichy and their union resulted in four children. They built their house in 1956 and brought up their family on a mixed farm.

Kathy believed in hard work, getting things done and was willing to help others. She had a very positive outlook, a cheerful disposition and enjoyed a good laugh.

Kathy was very social, enjoyed visiting, hosting family events, homemaking, gardening and farming. She gave her time to support her community and was involved in many local boards, clubs and guilds.

She was dedicated to her family and was very much involved in daily activities of the farm.

In 2017, due to poor health Kathy became a resident of St. Joseph’s Integrated Care Center in Lestock until her passing on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

Kathy is lovingly remembered by Robert (Bob), her husband of 69 years; her four children, Jerry (Marina), Randy (Sheena), Perry (Sandra) and Wanda; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
