Obituary of Edwin Norman St. Pierre
The family of Edwin St. Pierre of Yorkton, beloved husband of Harriet Oaks St. Pierre, sadly announce his passing on September 27, 2023. Edwin Norman St.Pierre was born on April 20, 1937, to Alexander and Mary St. Pierre. He grew up and attended school in Crescent Lake, Saskatchewan. In 1963, he met and married Edna Rose St.Pierre (Pelletier). Together they raised their four children Darrell, Rene, Dale, and Gerard.
In 1954, joined the Canadian Armed Forces, serving until 1967 and was honourably discharged at the rank of Warrant Officer. With his work career and involvement with several organizations including GDI, Legion, coaching, etc., he truly was a role model to many. Through community work, inspiring our Metis youth to achieve their goals through education and hard work.
Ed met and married Harriet Oaks St. Pierre on August 1, 2009. The couple have shared an amazing journey together. To their credit they wrote and had published the book “Remembering My Metis Past: Reminisces of Edwin St.Pierre.”
If you knew Ed, then you knew he always had a twinkle in his eye and joke at the ready. When he was in the room there was always laughter and lots of joking going on. Playing cards, sharing stories, and eating a meal with friends and family was a treasured and favourite past time.
His pride and joy were his grandchildren who he would chat nonstop about to anyone who would listen. An immensely proud, kind, loving, and humble man was our Dad, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Son, and Friend. He will be missed so very much but will always be in our hearts.
