Obituary of Elizabeth Greba
It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of our beloved Aunt Elizabeth on September 23, 2023.
Elizabeth was born on October 7, 1937, near Mikado on her parent’s farm, to Ann (Schur) and Jacob Greba. Elizabeth was the second youngest child of twelve children. She attended Wisna School and then to further her education she continued to Sacred Heart High School in Yorkton.
After graduating from Sacred Heart High School, Elizabeth returned home to help with family responsibilities. She did this not out of obligation but because she cared deeply for her family and because she was the first to offer help to her family. Elizabeth worked at the Eagle Stone Lodge in Kamsack in the administration office until she retired in 2001. Shortly after her retirement she moved to Yorkton where she resided until her passing.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Anne and Jacob Greba, siblings Stan, Sam, Nick, Joe, John, Mike, Frank, Marie, Stephanie, Lillian and Theresa. She leaves to mourn her passing her Sister-in-law Carol Greba, numerous nieces & nephews.
Elizabeth was a witty and fun spirited soul with the most beautiful smile. She was a private and quiet person yet she had many friends. Elizabeth took on many hobbies but one she enjoyed more than watching sports was gardening and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. Elizabeth enjoyed sewing and cooking for family at any special occasion. Her old-fashioned recipes and cooking were sought after by many of her nieces and nephews. Elizbeth was a beautiful person inside and out. She was kind hearted and cared deeply for the people around her. Her sense of humor and caring manner will be remembered by those who knew her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Van Heerden, the Yorkton & District Nursing Home, Melody Manor Unit staff, the 1st East, 1st West Medical Unit Staff at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre for the compassionate and professional care.
We will think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched for nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so very much.
