Evelyn Doris Pawluk (Berner) was born April 6, 1932 at the family farm in the Berresford District.  She grew up on the family farm and had a real love for ball and horses.  She was the youngest of 7 and although she loved them all, she could always be found outside with the boys.

Effie attended Berresford School and was always telling tales on her trips to and from school.

Effie met Mike and they were married in January, 1951 in Yorkton, SK.  Effie and Mike were blessed with 5 children who they raised on their family farm.  Effie also kept busy selling Tupperware and Avon.

Effie was active within Kelliher Senior’s Club for several years.  She enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, knitting, crocheting and bingo.

Effie was a wonderful cook and baker.  She was famous for her homemade bread & flapjacks as well as her Sunday chicken dinners which, were enjoyed by many.  You could be certain, you would never leave her house hungry and if you were her grandchild, you could always count on her to help you finish your plate.

Effie’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren lit up her whole world.  She was so blessed to watch them all grow over the years. She was so proud to be a grandma and was always grateful for a visit. Effie was a mother, wife, sister, auntie, grandma & great grandma and will be truly missed by many. Rest easy Effie.
