Obituary of Glenn Beyko

It is with great sadness, that the Beyko family announces the passing of Glenn Beyko. Glenn passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on August 21, 2023 at home, at the age of 52.

Glenn was born in Yorkton on April 6, 1971, to William and Theresa Beyko (nee Lozinski). He was the youngest of three children.  He grew up on the family farm 5 miles north of Rhein, Saskatchewan. He attended school in Rhein and Yorkton, and graduated in 1989 from the Yorkton Regional High School.

Following graduation, he studied heavy duty mechanics at Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon and then worked briefly in Saskatoon and northern Alberta before realizing that his true place was on the family farm.

Glenn was an extremely hard-worker, who dedicated his life to the farm. He worked side-by-side with his father and his brother, Peter Beyko, and significantly contributed to the success of the family’s grain farm. Glenn was well known for his quality of work and pride in doing a job “right”. He was a skilled farmer and business man. When Glenn tackled a project, it was done correctly and perfectly, no matter how long the job took. He was a “jack of all trades” and there was nothing that he wouldn’t tackle. 

Glenn’s passion was collecting and restoring antique cars, a passion that a shared with his father and brother.  Glenn also successfully obtained his private pilot license in 2006, and enjoying flying when he could. 

Glenn married the love of his life, Irina Tabakar, on February 6, 2009 in Odessa, Ukraine, and on March 5, 2010, they were blessed with their son Daniel.  Glenn’s greatest gift!

Rhein and area was his home. He valued the sense of community and good relationships with neighbours, who also became his cherished friends. Glenn was a sensitive, caring, humble, gentle, and selfless person who often sacrificed his own needs for those of others.

Glenn also enjoyed traveling and road trips. He made countless trips throughout Canada and the US with his brother Peter making deals on equipment and cars. He also made multiple trips to Ukraine and Moldova when he was courting his wife Irina and travelled to many countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. 

Left to morn his passing and cherish his memory is his wife Irina Beyko, son Daniel Beyko, father William Beyko, mother Theresa Beyko, brother Peter Beyko (Darlene Paradis), sister Michelle Beyko (Tom Scott), Nephew Tyson Beyko, Niece Madison Beyko, and Nephew Austin Beyko.
