With his nieces by his side, Leonard made his journey to the other side on the afternoon of June 1, 2023 at the General Hospital in Regina.

Leonard was born in the Tullymet district on May 19, 1937, the youngest and only surviving child of Fred and Clara Ross. He was a friendly, easy going man who lived a quiet life.

Leonard received his education in the Tullymet district and as a young man began to work for several farmers in the area as a laborer. He began working for CN Railways in his early thirties on the “extra gangs”, a job that would take him from the prairies to Ontario. He later began work as a section man for many years in Kelliher and finally in Ituna. He was always happy about receiving a “twenty-five-year accident free” certificate which was always displayed proudly.

Some of his greatest passions in life were reading and music. He could easily play the guitar, dobro, piano and banjo. In his last years he was known to visit the post office and the library very frequently.

Leonard was predeceased by sisters Mary, Helen, Pauline, Margaret and Tillie and brothers Jim, Albert, George and Johnny. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
