Obituary of Jean Yuristy
Jean Yuristy was born on October 17th, 1920, daughter of Timothy & Anna Skochylas. She was married to Metro Yuristy on July 20th, 1940 at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna, Saskatchewan.
They farmed in the Homefield district until 1984, at which time Jean moved to Ituna & resided there until her passing.
Jean loved gardening & grew huge gardens & was very fond of her raspberry patch. Her canning provided her family with ample food year round.
Unfortunately, Jean fell & broke her hip on March 17th, 2023 & spent the rest of her days in hospital & care homes. Her health deteriorated & she passed away at Ituna Pioneer Lodge on May 5th, 2023.
Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Betty Kaban and son, Lynn Yuristy and the father of her children, Metro Yuristy. She is survived by Elaine (Art) Kowalski, Grace (Ken) Ahl, and Shirley (Vince) Meckler as well as 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
