Obituary of Eva Buczulak
BUCZULAK - Mrs. Eva Buczulak (nee Antonishyn) of Kelliher, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at St. Joseph's Integrated Health Centre, Lestock. Eva was born on January 27, 1917 to parents Anton and Anna (Stadniski) Antonishyn in the Campbelltown District, north of Jasmin. On November 15, 1936, she was united in marriage to John Buczulak at Sacred Heart Church in Ituna. Together, they began their farming career in the Horse Lake area with $84 in their pocket. In 1940, they moved to farm a section of land north of Kelliher. Eva retired to Kelliher in 1981. Eva was a competitive person who enjoyed playing ball, cards, tile rummy, shuffleboard, and carpet bowling. An avid gardener, Eva won many ribbons for her vegetables and flowers at the Seniors Garden Shows. Always eager to feed friends and family, she enjoyed cooking and baking. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1972, an infant son Willie in 1944, parents Anna in 1968, Anton 1973, siblings Mary 1915, Mike 1918, Caroline 1925, Ludwig 1927, Frank 1996, Julie Wistoski 2005; in-laws Alex 1953, Maria 1962, sister-in-law Nettie 1960, brothers-in-law Peter 1969, Bob Keegstra 1974, Paul 1988 (Kay 1992), John Yanko 1995, Leonard Wistoski 1998. Eva is survived by her children: Pat (Harry) Mandziak of Kelliher, Adeline (Robert) Wuschenny of Yorkton, Philip (Linda) Buczulak of Kelliher, and Bradley (Sandy) Buczulak of Lethbridge AB; Grandchildren, Terelyne (Jim) Vadeboncoeur, Azalea (Steve) Parisien, Trevor (Bonnie) Mandziak, Bryce (Delaine) Mandziak, Tricia Wuschenny, Aaron Buczulak, Pamela Buczulak, Amanda Buczulak (Fiance Curt Warnar), Crystal Buczulak, Mark Buczulak and Ryan Buczulak; Great Grandchildren Jessica, Riel, Morgan, Abby, Kendyl, Luke, Kyla, Tanner, Megan and Alexis; sister-in-law Anna Yanko, brother Joe (Annie), sisters Katie (Stanley) Faye, Rosie (John) Kitzul, Emily (Joe) Shuya, Jennie (Ernie) Horvath, sister-in-law Lena Antonishyn and numerous nieces and nephews. Prayers were held on Friday, June 17, 2006 from St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Kelliher. The Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, June 17, 2006 from St. Vladimir's Church. Very Rev. Father Borys Kyba C.Ss.R was the Celebrant. Cantors, Wayne Boczulak, Ladmer Moskal and Heidi Spilchuk led in the singing of the responses. The crossbearer was Jim Vadeboncoer, the epistle-reader was Azalea Parisien. The interment took place in the Jasmin Catholic Cemetery with Aaron, Mark & Ryan Buczulak, Trevor and Bryce Mandziak and Steve Parisien serving as the casketbearers. The reception followed in the Kelliher Curling Rink where a tribute was offered by Terelyne Vadeboncoer. Arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home. Service Information
