Obituary of Sandra Dale Lane
Sandra Dale Lane Peepeetch passed away on Monday, November 6, 2006 at her home in Saskatoon with family and friends by her. She was 45 years of age. Sandra was born on August 28, 1961 at Yorkton, Saskatchewan; a daughter of Wilfred James and Mabel M. (nee Peepeetch) Pelletier. Sandra attended various schools in Yorkton with the last one being at Esterhazy High. She then began employment at various jobs until she was diagnosed with Lupus Erythemia. Sandra was a very fun loving, trusting and soft - hearted person which made it easy for her to make friends. She had a sense of humour that was endearing to many people and she would say anything to draw laughter from those around her. It was this sense of humour that also got her through many tough times. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and like a true KoKum she enjoyed relating tales of cute things said and done. Sandra was diagnosed with cancer 9 months ago. During her life Sandra was a volunteer Candy Striper in Esterhazy and volunteered her time at Princess Alexander School in Saskatoon and at the Friendship Inn. She collected unicorns, enjoyed playing Bingo and card games and loved to visit with people, laughing and teasing. Sandra leaves to mourn her passing and to celebrate her life her daughters: Melinda Cava of Ontario, Marie Peepeetch (Mervin) of Saskatoon; grandchildren: Odessa, Mervin, Brandon and Emily. Also her brothers: James Jr. (June) Pelletier of Speers, SK., Wilfred (Heather) Peepeetch of Sakimay First Nation; her sister Betty - Anne (Brian) of Saskatoon along with nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sandra was predeceased by her grandparents,: Joseph and Isabelle Pelletier, Vincent and Grace Peepeetch; her parents James and Mabel and a niece Charlotte Sammy . The wake commenced on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 from The Yorkton Friendship Centre with prayers on Thursday, November 9, 2006 with Father Basil Chomos Officiating. Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated on Friday afternoon, November 10, 2006 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church Yorkton, Sask. with Father Basil Chomos as Celebrant. The organist was Carol Nagy leading the parish choir and congregation in the Hymns: "Amazing Grace", Psalm 116, "Precious Lord, Take My Hand", "Like A Shepherd", "Song Of The Angels", and "How Great Thou Art". The Crossbearers were Mervin and Ross Peepeetch with the readers being: Delta Henry and Timothy Roussin. Jesse Pelletier, Johnothan Pelletier, Wilbert Henry, Rita Arnault, Nicole Anderson and all those that loved Sandra wre Honourary Bearers. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with: Baby Jimmy, Kyle Sammy, Mannie Sammy, Ashley Peepeetch, Mitchell Brazeau and Paul Anderson serving as Casket Bearers.
