Obituary of Joseph Hadubiak

HADUBIAK - Mr. Joseph Hadubiak, a resident of Muchmor Lodge in Regina, formerly of Yorkton and Rama entered eternal rest on Friday, April 13, 2007 at his residence. He was 92 years of age. Joseph was born August 24, 1914 to Andrew and Barbara Hadubiak on the family homestead NE 1/4 of 18-33-6 -W -2nd known as Olesha. He attended Olesha public school and took grade 1X and X by correspondence. On October 7, 1939 he married Mary Krochak, daughter of Harry Krochak and Annie (Madarash). They farmed on the home quarter for 8 yrs. In 1947 they left the farm and moved to Rama where he contracted with the CNR. While in Rama he belonged to St. Peter & Paul Parish where he become involved in the parish and recreation clubs. In Rama he served as Secretary Treasurer for the school board. In 1957 he moved his family to Yorkton and he joined Track Maintenance Forces with CNR and worked at different locations. In Yorkton he served as Secretary Treasurer for Maintenance of Ways Employees, Secretary Treasurer for the Golden Agers and held various committee positions and was also involved with the Threshermen's Festival. He received an Award of Appreciation for the dedication to Golden Agers and also received a Certificate of Merit from the Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood. He enjoyed gardening and getting together with relatives and friends for a game of Kaiser and was always busy helping people. In 1997 he sold his house and moved to Regina, he lived in an apartment for 4 yrs and then moved to Hewitt Place for 5 years, where he met new friends and they were like a close net family. Last October he moved into the Residence of Mutchmor Lodge. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, his wife Mary, stepmother, brothers, John, Nickolas, Peter and Steve; sisters, Ann, Katherine and Xenia, daughter Elizabeth, granddaughter Theresa and great grandson Bradley. He leaves to mourn one son Sylvester(Karen); two daughters, Elaine Van Os and Gloria Galinski all of Regina; grandchildren, Arthur Beyer(Linda) of BC, John Galinski (Joey) Regina, Curtis Beyer(Nancy) BC, Brenda Jasper(Jim) Regina, Michelle Van Os of Regina, Kory Van Os of BC, Christina, Shay, Brian, Candice (Trent), Jason (Lori) Stacey (Mark); great grandchildren: Chantille, Graham, Cassandra, Jasmine, Mitchell, Allison, Jordyn, Isaiah and Jordan. Tina and J.J.; brothers-in-law, Joe Krochak, Wally Krochak, Steve Krochak, Mike Krochak and Nick Krochak; sisters - in - law: Olga Gamracy and Ann Porter; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Prayers were held on Thursday, April 19th at the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary led by members of the Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood preceded the prayers. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Friday, April 20th at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church with Rev. Father Frank Szadiak, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Ed. Pindus, Colette Karapita and members of the parish choir. The honour guard was formed by members of the Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood and the Golden Agers. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Arthur Beyer, John Galinski, Curtis Beyer, Kory Van Os, Chantille Jasper and Graham Jasper serving as the casket bearers. Funeral arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home.
