Obituary of Edward Kostiw
Edward Peter Kostiw was born on April 17, 1940 in Goodeve, Saskatchewan a son of Peter and Annie (nee Wyrsta) Kostiw. Ed moved to Toronto in 1956 where he met and later married Gloria Bespalko. The couple returned to Goodeve in 1976. Together they raised three daughters Kim, Vicki and Patricia. Ed worked with S.P.M.C. (Saskatchewan Property Management) working in various facilities including the Provincial Building in Melville, the Yorkton Court House and Highways building and the White Spruce Youth Treatment Facility. Ed retired in 2000 and continued to live in Melville until 2004 when he and Gloria retired to Donwell (near Canora) until July of 2007 when Ed's health forced them to move into Yorkton. Ed passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home. He was sixty-seven years of age. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Annie, two sisters, Marie and Mickey. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Gloria of Yorkton, three daughters, Kim (Brad) Graham of Bienfait, SK, Vicki (Troy) Campbell of Regina, SK and Patricia (Dean) Scowen of Ottawa. ON; four grandchildren Kayla, Travis, Chayse and Nolan, and one brother William (Betty) Kostiw of Toronto as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. At Ed's request a family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorials in memory of Ed may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Alzheimer's Society of Saskatchewan. Arrangements entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
