Obituary of Dale Husack

HUSACK - Mr. Dale Husack, age 55 years of Calgary, passed away suddenly at his home on October 14, 2008. Dale William Husack was born August 16, 1953 in Yorkton. He attended Calder School, Yorkton Regional High School, University of Saskatchewan and eventually earning a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Alberta. Dale started his career in 1972 at Torchinsky Engineering in Yorkton, while still a university student. He worked at various civil engineering firms as a draftsman, surveyor and urban planner in Edmonton, Regina and Calgary. He was currently employed as a Senior Design Coordinator at Eclipse Geomatics & Engineering in Calgary. Through his work, he helped design many new land developments across the West, both residential and commercial. Dale was known for his accuracy and thoroughness and was well-respected among his colleagues in the engineering field. While in Edmonton as a student, Dale was a volunteer disc jockey with CJSR, the University of Alberta campus radio station and even designed one of its logos. Dale's interests were wide-ranging in the arts. From a self-taught guitarist to a self-taught painter, Dale's attitude was always that he could learn anything. From country music to ballroom dancing to movies, Dale had a passionate appreciation for all artists. Above all, family and his roots in Calder were the most important to him. Dale leaves to mourn and is survived by his family; parents, William and Gloria Husack of Calder, brother Glen and his wife Wendy Nugent and their daughters Kelly and Erin of Regina, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Faye Greer of Westview United Church officiating. Organist, Amanda Buhler, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'The Lord's My Shepherd', and 'Amazing Grace'. The interment took place in the Garden of Gethsemene with Barry Calanchie, Brian Dietrich, Bert Bewcyk, Wayne Skwernuik, Randy Balabuck and Greg Dietrich serving as the casketbearers.
