Obituary of Richard Fatteicher
Mr. Richard Henry Fatteicher of the MacNutt district of Saskatchewan passed away in the early morning hours of November 7, 2008 at the Centennial Special Care Home Langenburg, Sk. He was 87 years of age. Richard was born on August 10, 1921 on the family homestead in the Clova district of Saskatchewan 4 miles north 1 mile east and 1 mile north of MacNutt. Richard was a son born to European immigrants Henry and Eleanora (nee Miller)Fatteicher. Richard was raised and worked on the family farm and received his education at Clova school. Following his education and continuing to work on the farm he started his own homestead with his wife Helen whom he was united in marriage to on November 16, 1949. Together they worked and raised their family. After Helen passed away in 2002; Richard continued to reside at his residence until moving to the Centennial Special Care Home in Langenburg. During his life Richard enjoyed his life as a farmer. He also loved to drive; many times travelling to Roblin or checking the crops and as well driving in for coffee and socializing with his friends. Richard was predeceased by his loving wife Helen on November 20, 2002; an infant son Wesley; his parents; a brother Elmer and his wife Irene; two sisters in infancy Sylvia and Juanita and a sister - in - law Jean. Richard leaves to cherish his memory and to celebrate his life six children: Wendy (Don) Jendrasheske of Rocky Mountain House AB., Gladys (Bruno) Zerbin of Creighton, SK., Sandra (John) Geres of Langenburg, SK., Rick (Joan) Fatteicher, Ron (Heather) Fatteicher all of the MacNutt district and Glenda Thies of Prince Albert, Sk. As well, fifteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; a brother Harold of MacNutt, SK. a sister Irma (Fred )Baumung of Togo, SK., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A service of comfort was held on Sunday evening, November 9, 2008 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. The Funeral service wsa held on Monday afternoon, November 10, 2008 from Grace Lutheran Church Zorra district of Sask. with Pastor Robert Hasselstrom officiating. The organist was Debbie Funk leading the Congregation in the Hymns: "Amazing Grace", "Nearer My God To Thee", "I'm But A Stranger Here" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". The Honourary Bearers were Richard's grandchildren: Barry Zerbin Brian Zerbin, Douglas Jendrasheske, Karen Fatteicher,Colleen Sulatyski , Jolene Baumung Brittany Thies;Great Grandchildren: Brittany, Savana and Justin Jendrasheske, Carlie, Taylor and McKenna Geres, Lane, BillieJo, Dalton and Clay Baumung, Kayden Fatteicher and Brayson Zerbin. The interment followed in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery with Richard's Grandsons:Kelly and Colin Fatteicher Damian, Aaron and Randal Fatteicher, David Jendrasheske ,Richard and Roger Geres serving as Casket Bearers. services directed by Bailey's Funeral Home Yorkton Just a farmer you said and I laughed ' cause I knew, All the things that a farmer must be able to do. They must study the land and watch the sky And figure just when is right time and why. To sow and to plant, to buy and to sell, To go to the market with cattle and well… You know the books a farmer must keep, To pay all those taxes and be able to sleep. And you know the fixing that farmers must do, When machines like mad monster blow a gasket or two. I guess when God needed folks to care for His earth, He chose just farmers ' cause He knew their worth
