Obituary of Lena Hrynchuk
HRYNCHUK - Mrs. Lena Hrynchuk of Yorkton entered eternal rest peacefully on Saturday, July 18th at the Wallace House of Yorkton & District Nursing Home at the age of 100 years. Lena was born on February 20, 1909 in the Sheho district into the Darichuk family. Lena lived all her life in Yorkton where she raised her family. She loved gardening and spending time with her family. She will be fondly remembered as a dedicated patron of MacDonald's Restaurant in Yorkton where she spent countless hours socializing with her beloved friends. She was predeceased by her husband Alec in 1981. Lena leaves to cherish her memory five children; Elsie Bredo, Steve Hrynchuk, John (Elsie) Hrynchuk, Doreen (Barry) Dutton and Marie (Mike) Sumner; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, July 22nd, at the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home, Yorkton with Very Rev. Father Mel Slashinsky of Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Orthodox Church officiating. The responses were led by cantor, William Kozey and Parish Choir members. The interment took place at Yorkton City Cemetery. Vichnaya Pamyat! Eternal Memory!
