This perfected Dora's packing skills and homemaking. During this time Dora and William had two children. In the mid 1940's, they settled on Dora's parents farm, tried farming till 1953 at which time William went back to teaching, again in that same area, living in the teacherages for the winter and on the farm for the summer where numerous large gatherings took place. Dora was well known for her baking, cooking skills, fashionable attire, love of gardening and flowers. In 1958 they settled in Insinger, moved to Theodore in 1962, fully retired in 1972 and then relocated to Yorkton in 1983 settling at the Bentley Retirement Community for the past six years. In her younger days Dora was active in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Theodore Senior Citizens Club and Whitesand Regional Park where she also enjoyed Golfing.
