Obituary of Paul Bozek

BOZEK - Mr. Julius Bozek of Kelliher, beloved husband of Eva passed away suddenly on October 28, 2009 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina at the age of 88 years. Julius Paul Bozek was born on December 5, 1920 at Wishart, Saskatchewan a son of Frank & Eva Bozek. He attended Royal Rock School and following his education worked at Bush Camps in Ontario. He enlisted in the Canadian Army and trained in Regina. He then went to Halifax and then over to England where he trained for three years, then served in Italy for one year. He then was sent to Rome, where because of illness he was hospitalized for one month and spent Christmas in hospital in Rome. When the war was over, Julius spent some time in Holland and France before returning to England, and eventually back to Canada. On June 26, 1948 Julius was united in marriage to Eva Wowchuk at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Wishart. The couple farmed in the Bankend area and raised their family of five children. They farmed until 1976 when they retired and moved to Leross. In 2002 they moved to Kelliher where they have since resided. Julius enjoyed playing the mouth organ; reading newspapers and playing cards. Predeceased by his parents; son Lawrence in 2001; brother Mike Bozek and sister Esther Kostiuk. Julius leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Julia Krawchuk of Saskatoon, Eve Price of Armstrong, BC, Theresa (Leo) Gargol of Saskatoon and Elaine (Lyle) Ferguson of Theodore; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three sisters Josie Lamber of Invermay, Mary Nickolat of Wynyard and Jean Yaneshewski of Wynyard; two brothers Bryan (Doreen) of Yorkton and John of Regina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Prayers were held on Monday, November 2, 2009 at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Parish in Kelliher. The readers were Theresa Gargol & Eve Price. Remembrances of Julius' life were shared by daughter Eve. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, November 3rd, at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Parish in Kelliher with Rev. Father J. Pat Murphy as the Celebrant. The altar server was Taylor deGooijer and the organist was Jilian deGooijer. Readings were given by Alvin Gargol, Wayne Ferguson and Jennifer Gargol. Offeratory Gifts were presented by Brittany Gargol & Shawna Ferguson. The interment followed in White Eagle Parish Cemetery with Shawn Ferguson, Ryan Ferguson, Wayne Ferguson, Ron Hudson, Al Gargol and Trevor Fisher serving as the casket bearers. Members of the Keller Legion served in an honour guard and conducted the Tribute Service. Funeral arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home. Interment Details
