Obituary
Obituary of Victoria Mazden
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our extraordinary mom, grandma and great-grandma, Victoria Antonina Mazden. She loved her family immensely and was loved in return by daughter Dolores (Zenon) Smycniuk and children Darcy (Andrea Hnatiuk) and Alexandra Smycniuk, Kendra Smycniuk, Treena (Scott) Auramenko and Zachary and Hunter; son Edward (Lucy) Mazden and children Elliott (Shelley) Mazden, Ryan Mazden, Martina (Tyler) Buchanan, Eric Mazden; daughter Marilyn (David) Chambers and children Brandi (Stuart) Bazeley, Evan Chambers and Byron Chambers. She will be fondly missed by her sister Ann Koback, and brothers Peter (Sophie) Grebinski, Michael (Margaret) Grebinski and Leonard (Leona) Grebinski. Victoria will be remembered by her extended family of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. Victoria was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Walter Stanley Mazden, her 2 infant children Joseph and Veronica, her parents Anton and Katherine Grebinski, her brothers Bill, Stanley, Frank and John Grebinski, her sisters Mary Bulych, Angela Kolybaba and Sophie Butchko, her nephews Norman Koback, Jerry Grebinski, Tony Grebinski and Matt Bulych, her brothers and sisters-in-law and cousins. Mom was a ‘people person' whose door was always open. She could cook up amazing meals with enough to feed all, accompanied by the best desserts. She loved nature and all its blessings, her beautiful flower gardens surrounding the home she loved and lived in for 62 years built and restored by her husband Walter. Victoria had a great love for the Lord, who was a very prayerful woman with a strong belief in treating people as she would want to be treated. Victoria was blessed with many talents, namely a wonderful singing voice, dancing ability, skilled at oil-painting, sewing, quilting, crocheting and assisting with stains to complete Walter's wood-working pieces he designed and built for churches and homes. Victoria was born in Beckenham, Saskatchewan into a farming and musical family. She passed on her love of music to her extended family many of whom are musicians. Her nostalgia over youth and adolescent years provided good entertainment to all. Victoria lived her entire married and widowed life in Ituna, where she was a member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, belonging to the CWL and Choir. She was a member of the Ituna Curling Club and Social Club. She was generous with her charitable organizations as well as to her family which is recognized and greatly appreciated. Victoria was a beautiful, fiery and meticulous lady who believed in keeping up appearances. She enjoyed socializing, had her favourite T.V. shows, loved to laugh and used her gifts of wit and feistiness as she lived through her difficult years of declining health with vascular disease. Special thanks from her family to her doctors, nurses, care-givers in Ituna, Melville and Regina at the hospitals, care-home and nursing home and to the residents of these homes who became new friends.
