Obituary of Jennie Petrowski

Jennie Petrowski was born on September 7, 1938 at Ituna, Saskatchewan, a daughter to Mike and Annie (nee Hudyma) Hrycewich. Jennie was raised on the family farm and attended Beaverside and Olga Schools. After her education she worked at Kelliher Hotel. Jennie met Mike Petrowski and was united in marriage on June 9, 1957 at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna. This marriage was blessed with three children. The couple farmed together in the Hard Rock district. After Mike passed away, Jennie moved to Ituna where she continued to reside. Jennie was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the U.C.W.L. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, making perogies and looked forward to spend time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Jennie entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville at the age of 71 years after a short battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents, her husband Mike, sister Angeline, nephew Micheal and niece Laurie. Jennie leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Christine (Gary) Kitzul of White City, Virginia Petrowski of Regina and Larry Petrowski of Regina;; grandchildren Marcy Kitzul (James) Baziuk and Tyler Kitzul and Joy Petrowski; brothers, Orest (Gloria) Hrycewich of Kamloops, BC and Emil (Phyllis) Hrycewich of Kamloops, BC; sisters, Adella (Matt) Dmyterko of Kamloops, BC and Shirley (Erwin) Reiger of Regina; as well as nieces and nephews. Prayer services were held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 7:00p.m., from Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna, Saskatchewan. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 10:00a.m., from Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church with Very Rv. Fr. Boris Kyba C.S.s.R. as the Celebrant. Epistle reader was Grandaughter, Marcy Kitzul and the crossbearer was Granddaughter, Joy Petrowski. Jane Chorney carried the U.C.W.L. banner. Honorary bearers were everyone who knew and loved Jennie. The interment followed in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with grandson, Tyler Kitzul and James Baziuk, Kevin Reiger, Jonathon Reiger, Kim Flegal and Glen Petrowsky as the casketbearers.
