Obituary of Agnes Lang

LANG - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Agnes Lang (Varga), on July 7, 2010 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 90. Agnes was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) Lang, parents Frank and Mary Varga, children Lloyd, Jack, Lyle, Diane and Stewart, daughter in law Faye, sister 's Helen and Mary and brothers Frank and Felix. Agnes is survived by her sister Margaret, grandchildren Mitch (Shanda), Dean (Sharon), Tracy (Neil), Tony (Aimee), Jennifer, Caroline, Sharon (Dolan), Jason, Kevin (Shirley), Karen (Kevin), Dana (Dave), Jolene, Mona (Garth), Dallas and Rhonda, twenty-four great grandchildren, three great -great grandchildren, daughters in law Pauline, Carol, Leslie, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Agnes was born on December 15, 1919 in Budapest, Hungary. Upon coming to Canada, the family resided in the Otthon District. She married Jack Lang and they operated a dairy farm south of Yorkton for many years before moving to Yorkton. She continued to reside in the Willowbrook and Yorkton areas after Jack's death until moving to Saskatoon in 2009. Agnes enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them participate in their sporting events. She also enjoyed playing cards with all her children and grandchildren. Agnes loved planting and tending to her flowers. Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, July 13th at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Faye L. Greer of Westview United Church officiating. The organist, Amanda Buhler led in the singing of the hymns, "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden". The interment took place in the Garden of St. Matthew at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Kevin Granquist serving as the urn bearer. Memorials in memory of Agnes may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
