Obituary of Frank Urbanoski

URBANOSKI - Mr. Frank Urbanoski, resident of the Theodore Health Care Centre, beloved husband of Mary of Yorkton, entered eternal life peacefully on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Theodore at the age of 89 years. Frank was born on August 26, 1920 in Pulp River, Manitoba to Stanley and Karoline (Toporowski) Urbanoski. Frank served in the army, worked in mines in Northern Manitoba, then worked with his brother Walter in the Birch River Bakery. It was there he met Mary Koscielski and they were married on May 9, 1948. They started their married life in Pulp River, Manitoba then relocated to Birch River, Manitoba before moving to Yorkton, Saskatchewan in 1978. Here they operated F&M Grocery for 8 years before retiring in 1983. Dad enjoyed visiting, playing crib and cards and walked 2km daily until his health started to fail and he spent the last 2 years of his life in the Theodore and District Nursing Home. Frank was predeceased by his parents, son Freddie, grandson Jeffrey, great grandson Brighton, seven brothers and two sisters. Frank leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory, his loving wife Mary of 62 years; children Stanley (Joyce), Karol (Lloyd) Sutherland, Linda (Don) Kozey, and Michael (Theresa); grandchildren Bernadette (Doug) Pankoski, Dwayne Urbanoski (Tisha), Scott Urbanoski (Rebeka), Lesley Sutherland, David Sutherland, Rylan Kozey, Dayna (Justin) Pullukatt, Danita Urbanowski (Samuel); great grandchildren Jules Pankoski, Gabe Pankoski, Megan Blazeiko, Haley Penner; as well as sisters Mary, Anne and Pauline. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Father Francis Hengen officiating. The organist, Carol Nagy led members of St. Gerard's Parish Choir and the congregation in the singing of the hymns Here I Am Lord, Psalm 23, Day is Done, Peace is Flowing Like A River, Song of the Angels, and Praise the Lord with the sound of Trumpet. The lay-readers were Linda Kozey and Stan Urbanoski. The crossbearer was Megan Blazeiko. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Dwayne Urbanoski, Rylan Kozey, Justin Pullukatt, Samuel Jones, Ken Zubko and Perry Schmidt serving as the casketbearers.
