Obituary of Edith Knutson

KNUTSON - Edith May Knutson was born to Charles & Lillian Bligh on September 27, 1924 in the school district of Kensington Lake, in the Bredenbury district of Saskatchewan; the eldest child of three. Edith and her brother Walter stayed on the farm to care for their parents. On June 7, 1966 Edith married Elmer (Toby) Knutson and remained on the farm till 1970, when they moved into Bredenbury. Edith's mother, Lillian Bligh moved in with them. Edith looked after her mother until 1987, when she became a resident at the Yorkton Care Home. On October 10, 1989 Edith lost her husband Elmer (Toby). She remained in her home in Bredenbury until moving to the Daisy Hill Manor in Esterhazy on July 4, 2004. Due to health problems Edith was unable to care for herself, she became a resident of the Centennial Special Care Home in Esterhazy in March of 2009, where she had resided until her passing. Edith passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was 85 years of age. Edith was baptized into the Jehovah's Witness Faith on October 29, 1955. She always expressed her love for her Creator, and had complete trust in the resurrection hope at John 5:28. Edith was a loving sister to her brother Walter, and a loving friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed for her smile and great wit. She was predeceased by her husband Elmer; her mother Lillian in 1990; her father Charles in 1965; and a sister Lillian in 1944. She leaves to mourn her passing, her brother Walter of Bredenbury, and many loving friends and relatives. Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from the Esterhazy Kingdom Hall in Esterhazy. Mr. Mel Keeble of the Yorkton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses officiated. The interment took place in the Bredenbury Cemetery with Peter Walliser serving as the urnbearer. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home. Interment Details Bredenbury Cemetery
