Obituary of Theresa Silverthorne

SILVERTHORNE - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Theresa Silverthorne, aged 83. She passed peacefully on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. Theresa was pre-deceased by her husband Murray, her parents, Alice Mary (nee Campeau) and Paddy Callaghan, four sisters; Kathleen, Dorothy, Muriel and Anne, two brothers; Leo and Joe and one great-grandchild, Jessie. She will be greatly missed by her four daughters; Sharon (Ron), Linda (Trevor), Maxine and Bernice (Dan). Her eight grandchildren; Dawn (Anthony), Colleen, Paul; (Courtney), Samuel, Barbara (Randy), Jason (Annie), Dusten (Trina), Rae (Rob) and eight great-grandchildren. Theresa was born 25 July 1927 in Campbells Bay Quebec. She was the middle of twelve children. She and Murray were married February 25, 1949 in Campbells Bay. Murray was in the Canadian Armed Forces and after travelling for several years they settled down in Winnipeg, Manitoba. There came a few more moves to different provinces and with the passing of Murray, mom came to Yorkton Saskatchewan to be with her children. The funeral service was held on Wednesday afternoon, August 4, 2010 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Father Yaroslaw Sereda officiating. Daughter Sharon gave a tribute to Theresa on behalf of the children. The interment took place in the Garden of Memories. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
