Obituary of Julie Clark
CLARK - In loving memory of Julie who passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at St Peter's Hospital in Melville at the age of 90. Julie Clark was born in 1919 on a farm near Leross and was the third child of Joseph and Gizelle Horvath. She attended school in Leross until she was old enough to leave home to help neighbouring farm women with household chores and minding their children. For pay she received a few dollars a month plus room and board. She moved around Saskatchewan doing various jobs such as a store clerk and housemaid. It was while working at Rabenovich's Store in Kelliher that she met Harvey Clark. They married in May, 1951 and operated the Kelliher lumberyard until they moved to Alberta in 1954. Julie returned to Kelliher after Harvey passed away. Julie is predeceased by her husband Harvey, her parents, older sister Marie Reiber, sister and brother in- law Alice and George Stewart, brothers-in-law Leonard Schmale, Melvin Hansen, and Robert Reiber. Left to mourn her loss are her brothers: George (Evelyn) Horvath, Louis (Alma) Horvath, sisters: Ann Hansen, Margaret Schmale, Helen (Larry) Frey, and Jean (Peter) Molter, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service was held on Monday, August 16, 2010 from St. Vladimir's Church in Kelliher with Rev. Brian Mee of St. Paul's United Church officiating. Larry Frey gave a tribute to Julie. Organist, Lenore Rein led members of the choir and congregation in the singing of the hymns 'Just As I Am', 'In the Garden', and 'Beyond the Sunset'. The choir sang an anthem 'Beautiful Isle of Somewhere'. The interment followed in the Kelliher Memorial Gardens with Lynda Sebastian, Carol McCullough, Ronald Horvath, Terry Hansen, Myron Horvath and Todd Molter serving as the casketbearers.
