JENDRASHESKE - Mr. Frank Jendrasheske of Yorkton passed away in the early morning hours of January 12, 2009 at the age of 88 years. Frank was born on February 10, 1920 in Konstantinow, Poland, the eldest child of August and Elsa (Weick) Jendrasheske. He was baptized on February 17, 1920 and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on August 25, 1943. In July, 1929, along with his parents, two brothers and one sister, he boarded the Nieuw Amsterdam bound for Canada. At first the family lived in the Springside-Theodore area, but later moved to a farm in the MacNutt area. As a young man, Frank went to British Columbia where he found work on a dairy farm but later returned to the farm in the MacNutt area. There, attending a Walther League Rally, he met his future wife, Luella Haberstock, and they were united in Holy Matrimony on November 2, 1943 by Rev. E. Mayan in the Lutheran Church at Rothbury. Here Frank worked as a carpenter and as a custodian at the Locomart Store. His interests included gardening, fishing, and tinkering - he was a jack of all trades. As long as he was able, he attended Zion Lutheran Church where he helped with whatever he could, including the building of the parish hall, and was also a member of the Lutheran Laymens' League. In November, 1973 Frank and Luella suffered the loss of their son Randolf in a car accident, and in June, 1995 his beloved Luella was called home to Heaven. In December of 1999, as a victim of Alzheimer's Disease, Frank moved to the Anderson Lodge and later to the Malinowski House.
