Obituary of Ferdinand Fey

FEY - After a courageous battle with cancer, Ferdinand Walter Fey, age 78, beloved husband of Dolly Fey passed away Tuesday, June 28th, 2011 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. Fred was born March 31, 1933 at Grand Marias, MB. Fred was united in marriage to Dolly Evans, May 7, 1954. Fred worked for the Department of Highways from 1954 to 1987, taking an early retirement after 33 years. The day after he retired he started working at Potzus Construction in Yorkton and worked there until 2009, (22 Years). Fred's pastimes included hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Predeceased by his son Robert, mother Adella and father George, grandson Jason and brother, Ernie. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Dolly, daughter Sharon Lapitsky (Gary), daughter Debbie Fruno (Rick), son Curtis, daughter Brenda Tymko (Darcy), son Cameron (Tracey) and son Daryl. Nine grandchildren, Jeff, Jamie, Katrina, Robbie, Megan, Natasha, Sydney, Lucas and Lee. Four great-grandchildren William, Jacob, Hannah and Olivia. His three brothers John, Herbie (Dawn), Walter (Millie) and two sisters, Carolyn Greene (Robert), Hilda Daley and sister- in-law Vicki Fey. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, close friends and relatives. The funeral service was held on Monday, July 4th at the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home, Yorkton with Rev. Ken Buchan officiating. The organist, Judy Berg led the congregation in the singing of hymns, "Amazing Grace", "The Lord's My Shepherd" and "How Great Thou Art". The eulogy was shared by Tracey Fey (daughter-in- law) and a poem was recited by Megan and Sydney. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Curtis Fey, Gary Lapitsky, Cameron Fey, Rick Fruno, Daryl Fey and Darcy Tymko serving as the casket bearers. Memorials honouring the Fred's life can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A special thanks to the Potzus family for their help with everything and also to Dr. Daunt for his medical attention.
