Obituary of Michael Hawreluik
HAWRELUIK - Mr. Michael Hawreluik of the Sheho district, beloved husband of Pam Hawreliuk passed away suddenly on July 4, 2011. He was 58 years of age. Michael Alexander Hawreluik was born July 21, 1952 at the Foam Lake Hospital to parents Nick and Esther Hawreluik of Sheho. Michael took his schooling in Sheho and Foam Lake. Following high school Michael began farming with his dad Nick. He also worked for the Sask. Wheat Pool elevator in Rama as well as W.F. Botkin before deciding to farm full time. After a short courtship with his "Honeybun" Michael married Pam Bilokrely of Winnipeg on August 25, 1979. On August 17, 1983 they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Jennifer. In 2008, he added his son-in-law Stuart to his family. Michael loved his family and enjoyed teasing Pam and cracking corny jokes and remarks that would cause them all to roll their eyes! Michael along with Pam continued to farm with Michael's father, Nick, raising cattle and grain farming. Michael loved the farm way of life and passed on that passion for farming to his daughter. Michael enjoyed his cattle, taking drives to the Whitesand River and meeting with the guys every morning at coffee row. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his daughter and supporting her in all her endeavours including gymkhanas, 4-H and curling. In the last few years he enjoyed spending time with his son-in-law Stuart whether it was fixing equipment, going for drives or working with the cattle. Michael was a supporter of all community activities. He was a member of the Sheho Community Club and the Sheho Wheat Pool Committee. He was a member of the Sheho 4-H Beef Club and an avid supporter of the group. He supported all community events and volunteered many hours at the Sheho Sportsday. Michael enjoyed spending time and doing small tasks for his mother and she held a special spot in his life. Michael always put everyone else's best interests before his own. He would talk to anyone and everyone and could usually find out their life history after two minutes. He enjoyed visiting and having a few drinks with friends and family, especially his nephews. Michael was pre-deceased by his father, Nick and his brother-in-law, Peter Bachinski. Those left to celebrate his life and memory include his wife of 31 years, Pam, his daughter, Jennifer, and son-in-law, Stuart, his mother, Esther, and his in-laws Harold and Ruth Bilokrely.
