Obituary of Reinhold Stricker
STRICKER - Reinhold Stricker, resident of the Yorkton and District Nursing Home, formerly of Rhein, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2011. He was 83 years of age. Reinhold Stricker was born on August 9, 1928 in the Rhein district, a son of Fred and Molly Stricker. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Rhein. Reinhold was raised on the family farm and received his schooling in the district. As a young man he ventured from home to work out on his own, eventually returning to Rhein where he would farm for the rest of his working years. He cared for his parents while living at home with them. His greatest passion was taking care of his mother, especially during the last 6 years while she was still ill. His hobby was gardening. Following his retirement Reinhold resided in Rhein until failing health made it necessary to seek more constant care. He became a resident of the Eaglestone Lodge in Kamsack for about two years before becoming a resident of the Yorkton and District Nursing Home since May of 2010. Predeceased by his parents, Fred and Molly; a brother Edwin and a sister Pauline in infancy; brothers Alex, Dave, Henry, Fred & Jack; sisters Molly, Marie & Adeline. He is survived by three brothers: John, Emanuel & Clarence, and sisters Josephine, Pauline, Anne and Lenora; numerous nieces, nephews, and his many other relatives and friends. The graveside funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 27th, 2011 at the Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery in Rhein with Rev. Daphne Bender officiating. A memorial luncheon followed in the church basement. Arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home. Service Information
